If you are looking at how to reduce stress, then taking “time-out” is crucial!

‘Don’t just sit there, do something’. How many times have we heard this phrase? It seems as if life is filled with task after task and if others are not putting pressure on us, we do a pretty good job of heaping pressure upon ourselves.

Pressure is a necessary part of life, hence we have diamonds which were originally coal and due to pressure eventually changed. A reasonable amount of pressure is required to promote growth, because it encourages an individual to stretch, strive and learn.

Extreme constant pressure, however does not yield similar results, rather it produces high levels of stress, frustration, depression and life can end up passing you by.

just sitting - how to reduce stress

Reduce Stress By Stopping for Breath.

A friend of mine by the name of Khair-un-Nisa Simmonds once said: ‘Don’t just do something. sit there’. I loved it! What an amazing concept. Take time to appreciate life. Stop for breath. Have some PMT – Personal Me Time.

It is paramount to our physical, mental and emotional well-being that we adopt this philosophy. The earth was created for us to appreciate and enjoy, not the other way round.

Most of us are existing or surviving. It is time to start living.

Let us take time…

Let us take time to enjoy our loved ones.
Let us take time to enjoy our hobbies or take up new ones.
Let us take time to rest and feel rejuvenated.
Let us take time to read, think, learn and plan.
Let us take time to stop and appreciate nature.
Let us take time party!
Let us take time to put our feet up and veg out.
Let us just take time for ourselves.

…..Every now and then!
